⚠️ Safety Advisory

What to Avoid

The Philippines is incredibly welcoming, but its geography requires smart planning.

Climate Control

Typhoon Season

Avoid visiting between July and October if you can. This is peak typhoon season. Flights and ferries are frequently cancelled, and travel can become dangerous in remote areas.

Logistics

Tight Connections

Manila traffic is legendary, and airport transfers between terminals can take hours. Never book a tight connection (less than 4 hours) through NAIA airport.

Security

Remote Frontiers

While most of the country is very safe, check current advisories regarding travel to the far southern islands (Mindanao/Sulu Archipelago) due to localized security issues.

The Spirit of 'Bayanihan'

Filipinos are among the world's friendliest people. Don't be surprised if you're invited to a family feast or a karaoke session. Respect the local Catholic traditions, especially during Holy Week.

Connectivity

Wi-Fi can be spotty in the islands. Buy a local SIM card (Globe or Smart) at the airport. It's cheap and essential for booking 'Grab' (the local Uber) and checking ferry schedules.
